Isambard Grey

Isambard Grey

The Isambard was originally part of the AW11 Idolescent collection. Famously, all the shoes and boots I wanted as a teenager but simply could not afford.

The Isambard was inspired by the period in my teens when hanging out at the Dome in the Kings Road was cool because Johnsons, American Classics, Johnny Moke and Vivienne Westwood represented the coolest 50 meters of high street in the world and biker style was swag. We are talking pre Stussy. Anyway...with the Isambard I wanted to make a super warm boot with apres ski qualities and manly characteristics. The problem was that AW11 was one of the mildest winters on record and by the time the snow came all retailers were deep in sale time. That season I learned a little company like Mr. Hare should not have heavy winter inventory that only had a sales window of about six weeks. Hence the Isambard had to be discontinued until such time as we have the kind of marketing budgets and distribution channels to make that hitS work at the press of a button. The Isambards were mostly made in Black or Tan Vachetta but we made a very limited run of grey ones. In fact just 17 pairs in total.

We have 4 pairs. 1xUK8, 2xUK9 and 1xUK10. Originally RRP was £849.00. £599.00 will put this piece of Mr. Hare history in your wardrobe !!

Mr. Rare

As a lifelong sneaker head, I always graded the shoes on my feet by their sheer rareity value above all other things. Not bumping into anyone else in the same kicks as you is the real measure of a true shoe connoisseur. For that simple reason, Mr. Rare is a department dedicated to the curation of truly rare Mr. Hare shoes. Be they short runs, archive finds, factory misunderstandings, aborted experiments, collaborations or even just rare colour ways, what you find in Mr. Rare, you will not find anywhere else. And when they are gone from here, they will generally be gone forever.
