I love those deep British military grain leathers they look like you could file your nails on them. I have asked the Italian factories for deep grain leathers before but much like their attitude to work in August, the response was thin. However, my man Siliano sourced this aggressive grain from an old British archive. The rest of the boot was a study in a tight little boot on the new Rico last using some traditional styling but in a completely new way. I was already playing with the Ghillie look on the Deacon’s so I added those lace fastenings to the Freud style too. I imagined these boots with thick fisherman or hiking socks scrunched down so that lacing system could really come into its own. Sort of ragamuffin meets light infantry. I met Lucian Freud a few times in his later life and he seemed quite a practical sort of guy. I was actually thinking of him when I designed these. I don’t know if he would have worn them, but I think they would have suited his style.
All returns for any particular order need to be returned in one shipment and within 14 days of online purchase. Returns will be charged at the following rates, per box: UK - £5, EU - £10, Rest of the World - £20. Any subsequent returns from the same order will incur additional shipping costs. Please contact customerservices@mrhare.com to obtain a returns number and pay for delivery in order to proceed with your return. Our courier service, ILG Direct will contact you to organise a collection. The returns number should be written on your original invoice and on the airway bill or return-shipping label you are provided by the courier. We request that returns are shipped through our courier ILG Direct. MHL is not liable for any returned goods which are not returned in this way. Failure to obtain a returns number or return goods using ILG Direct does not affect your statutory rights.
MHL will not accept returns for any non-faulty items that have been worn and are creased and/or scratched in any way. Upon receipt of an order, if any item has been received in the conditions mentioned, customer should notify us (by phone or email) on the same day if they wish to return. We strongly advise all customers to check products thoroughly upon delivery before removing any attached tags and before disposing of any original packaging.
Please be aware that shoes must be returned with their original designer packaging. Shoes returned without their original boxes will not be accepted.
Please be aware that international customs duties and sales taxes are NOT refunded for shipments outside the European Community (EU).
Should you wish to exchange an item for an alternative size, please email us when you request your returns number and we will reserve it for you if the item is in stock. As soon as we receive your return, we will dispatch your new size to you after the goods have undergone a quality control check.
If you are located outside the EU you will be required to pay additional taxes and duties on the replacement item.
